The traditional british puddingIn many European countries it is normal to have a long break in the middle of the day, when all members of the family return to their houses to eat together.
This is not very common in Britain because normally it is a long way from the place of work or school to home.
British people tend to have a big breakfast before they get out and the meal at midday is made at work or at school.
Lunch is normally eaten between 12.30 pm and 1.30pm.
People tend to have dinner between 6.30pm and 8pm.
Fast-foods and the take-away dominate in England.
Modern and British cuisine is innovate day after day, it know vary the different favour food.
Breakfast: British breakfast is bigger than in most other countries. Many people like to have fried bacon and eggs with fried bread and possibly fried tomatoes or black pudding as breakfast. Among the cereals, indeed very popular, most commons are cornflakes. In each British supermarket there are several kinds and brands of cereals available.
Lunch: if you go to Britain to study english and you stay with a family you will almost certainly be given a "packed lunch" to eat for your midday meal. A packed lunch normally consist of some sandwiches, a packet of crisps, an apple and a can of drink.
Dinner: Things are changing and most British people eat meals from many different countries like spaghetti or curry. The most typical thing to eat for dinner is "meat and two veg". This consists of a piece of meat accompanied by two different boiled vegetables. This is covered with a sauce such as mayo, ketchup, bbq or brown sauce among the others. One of the most eaten vegetables are potatoes, so loved by british people.
Here are typical english dishes:
  - a full English breakfast: egg, tomatoes, mushroom, bacon and sausage;
  - roast beef: roast beef, roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables;
  - treacle pudding: it's a pudding with English cream.
