London: Luton airport

Luton airport is situated 50 km on the north of London and on it touch down only charter flight.
Luton it is an english airport which is having a striking growth: in less of five years the number of passengers increased from 1,9 millions to 6,5 millions.
It is a public airport owned by the Luton Borough Council, but it is managed by a private society since about 30 years.
Luton was officially opened in 1938. During the Second World War uesd to be a base for 264 chases and only after 1952 has been using again like civil airport. The same year was built also the control tower.
Between 1992 and 1996 were invested 30 millions of pounds in new infrastructures which followed an airport improvement.
To reach the center of London from the airport it is possible to take the shuttle to Luton station and then the train to King's Cross St. Pancreas.
For connections with the city center the quicker way is the train which after 40 minutes reach central London.
For nightly arrivals and for those who come in London fof the first time we advise a transfer from the airport by private car.
