Piccadilly CircusThe area of Piccadilly has been built in 1819 in the junction of Piccadilly, Regent Street, Shatfesbury Avenue and Haymarket.
In the 17th century, Piccadilly was an area of fashion and there were lots of buildings in the stucco style.
Today, Piccadilly offers a contrast among big shopping centres, cinemas and historic buildings.
Located in the south of Piccadilly, St James's Palace was built in the 1530's for Henry VIII and made Piccadilly a smart and elegant area, also very suggestive.
The visitors come in the centre of Piccadilly to admire the statue of Eros that was erected in 1892. Eros has become one of the most famous landmarks in London. Actually, this is a statue of the angel of Charity and a fountain erected in the memory of the Victorian philantropist The Earl of Shaftesbury.
From now on, the huge neon advertising hoardings, famous fashion shops keep on attracting the crowds. Moreover, Piccadilly and the surroundings are the focus of London night life.
