South KensingtonThe area of South Kensington is situated near Hyde Park, one of the biggest parks of London. Until the middle of the 19th century, South Kensington was a quiet rural area with many private schools.
In 1851, The Prince Albert instigated the Great Exhibition, the biggest art and science exhibition ever organized.
Several museums and schools are opened to the public and is welcome as many londonian inhabitants as tourists.
Indeed, Prince Albert & Victoria Museum houses, the most huge art collection in the world, and the public has the opportunity to visit Science Museum with an interactive display. Moreover the "Creepy Crawlies" exhibition in the Natural History Museum has proved attractive.
The story of music is completely restored in the Royal College of Music where different instruments are shown like a 1531 harpsichord.
South Kensington is a very lively cultural area especially in summer with concerts in the Royal Albert Hall.
